Welcome to Salient Ocean Adventures
After campaigning Salient during local and international yacht races, including the 2018 Vic-Maui Race, we have decided to take a break from racing and explore B.C.'s West Coast in a more leisurely cruising mode. We started in 2019 with an excursion to the Broughton Archipelago, followed in 2020 exploring Desolation Sound and in 2021 we decided to drop anchor in some of the lesser known bays on Johnstone Strait as well as the Discovery Islands. Boat
Salient is a Beneteau First 40.7, professionally put together by First Yacht Services who campaigned Salient during the 2016 Vic-Maui Race. Christof Marti campaigned the boat in the 2018 Vic-Maui Race taking first place in division.The First 40.7 is one of the most popular race boats around. |
Team
We are a family of three including Christof, Andrea and our son Leonardo. Together we have cruised these waters over the past decade starting our first excursions before Leo was born on a San Juan 24, upgraded to a Dufour 31 when the family grew and in 2016 acquired Salient with the goal of participating in the Vic-Maui race. |
